 Governor Masari Preseason Football Tournament is a long-term Project – Aliyu Danlami

Katsina State Commissioner for Sports, Youth and Social Development, Hon. Aliyu Sani Danlami have hinted in his recent interview at the ongoing Governor Masari Pre-season Tourney that the competition have come to stay and it will be a yearly event. 

The honourable Commissioner who is the sole sponsor and brain behind the competition has told Governor Masari Preseason Tourney media that the Prestigious Governor Masari Pre-season Tournament has come to stay

“As you can see the tournament is making progress and i am happy that a memorable event like this is happening in Katsina.

“I think this is the first time football event of this magnitude is happening in  Katsina State. I wish to let you know that Governor Masari Pre-season Tournament is a long-term project. Its an event that will be happening every year. Danlami assured.

The reasons behind this competition is to show that Katsina State is committed to Sports and Youth Development, get our youth engaged and above all to give our darling Katsina United the platform and privilege to have a better and suitable preparations ahead of the forthcoming Nigeria Professional Football League

While stressing further the workaholic Sports Commission expressed his joy to see Nigeria traditional football club honouring the invitation to participate in the maiden edition of Governor Masari pre-season Tournament.

“I am delighted and glad to see traditional clubs like the current NPFL Champios, Plateau United, honouring the invitation and they have given a good representation. The likes of Wikki Tourists, Niger Tornadoes, Sokoto United, Zamfara United and others are not left out of the party. I am highly impressed. Tge working commissioner disclosed

“The tournament has also seen local teams in Katsina to compete against higher ranked teams and thereby given the youth in the state with talent to exhibit their potential talent. 

“This tournament is not meant for jamboree, rather it is organised to keep the youth engaged especially in this period that we are just coming out of Covid-19 pandemic. 

“You can see the Katsina based teams and invited teams are all happy to be part of this tourney. Even those that could not honour the invitation have regretted their absence.

“We will build on this remarkable achievement thus far interms of Sports Development in the state and portray Katsina State to the world at large as a home of Sports and youth Development. Danlami posited

“We have also put in place adequate securiy in place to ensure that we have ‘a violent free’ tournament. Police and civil defence are always on ground in the stadium to maintain laws and orders.  

“Let me also bring to your attention that, the grand finale of the Governor Masari pre-season Tourney will be a memorable and remarkable one as dignitaries from government house, NFF executive members and prominent football stakeholders across the country are expected to grace the maiden event. Alhaji Danlami concluded.

The preliminary stage of the competition will be concluded later today and teams such Katsina United, Niger Tornadoes are already through to the semifinals of the competition despite having a game each at hand. The Seminals are bid for Saturday 7th November, 2020, while the Grand Finale will go down on Sunday
