Asisat Oshoala Debunks Fake Retirement News, Stays Focused on South Africa Clash

 

 

Super Falcons star Asisat Oshoala has dismissed rumors circulating about her retirement from football, expressing shock at the false reports. The six-time African Women’s Footballer of the Year clarified the situation in a conversation with journalist Colin Udoh, stating that she had no plans to retire and was taken aback by the speculation.

Oshoala Shocked by False Reports

When asked about the rumors, Oshoala admitted she was surprised but chose not to dwell on the matter, preferring to keep her attention on Nigeria’s upcoming match against South Africa’s Bayana Bayana.

 

“I asked her, and she said she doesn’t want to address it as she wants to stay focused on the game tomorrow against the Bayana Bayana of South Africa,” Udoh revealed.

 

Focus Remains on the Pitch

The  forward is currently with the Super Falcons as they prepare for a crucial semifinal clash against South Africa in the ongoing WAFCON. Oshoala’s priority is helping Nigeria secure a spot in the Olympics, and she has no intention of letting distractions affect her performance.
