The 25-year-old forward arrives in the French capital as a free agent following the expiration of her contract with Spain’s Atletico Madrid, where she spent five seasons and scored over 30 league goals.

Ajibade’s move to PSG sees her reunite with Nigerian compatriot Jennifer Echegini, who was also a key member of the recent Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) winning squad. Echegini famously scored the winning goal in the 2024 final against Morocco to secure Nigeria’s 10th title.

This transfer marks the latest step in Ajibade’s well-traveled career, which began with FC Robo Queens in the Nigerian Women’s Football League (NWFL). She later played for Norwegian side Avaldsnes before her successful stint in Spain with Atletico Madrid.

The signing significantly boosts the Nigerian presence in the French women’s top flight, Division 1 Féminine, which also includes Montpellier’s Ifeoma Onumonu, another WAFCON 2024 champion.
